Where we are
In the middle of the island, at the start of via Calamoni, on the side of the old prison. Shops and restaurants less than 5 minutes on foot, the port 10–15 (you can even get here with a trolley). The south coast is a 10-minute walk; with the sirocco, the Plaia is 500 m away. With a rented bike or scooter you reach any beach in under 20 minutes: our favourites are Cala Rotonda to the west, Cala Azzurra to the south-east, Cala Rossa to the north-east and the Plaia to the north.
The two houses
Favignana's two most famous coves gave the two houses their name and colour: Casa Azzurra on the first floor, Casa Rossa on the ground floor. Each has its own entrance and a garden with gazebo, all to itself.
Attention to detail
The gardens were designed by the architect Alessandra Cerrito and created by the Marsala nurseryman Enzo Alagna. Many furnishings are unique pieces found at fairs and in niche shops.
Comfort
Solar hot water, inverter air conditioning and thermal insulation that keeps the house cool. In winter, hot-water radiators and towel warmers fed by a gas boiler.
